Specialised Itineraries
There is plenty to see and do on a visit to The Elgar Birthplace Museum but we are also aware that your group may have a special interest which you would like to concentrate on during your time with us.
We have organised two special intineraries for you to choose from:
Itinerary 1 - Behind the Scenes
The visit will begin with coffee, tea and biscuits followed by a talk on the archive and how we preserve the items in the collection by one of our team. Using a slide show you will see the methods we use to preserve items including the new digitisation programme. There will also be an opportunity for your group to ask questions.
After the talk the group can look round the Elgar Centre and the Birthplace Cottage at their leisure. Depending on the size of your group and the work taking place at the Museum, your group may be able to visit our Research Room.

Intinerary 2 - Elgar: The Man & his Music
The visit will begin with coffee, tea and biscuits followed by a talk on Sir Edward Elgar by one of our team. You will hear about Elgar's childhood, the influences of his mother and father and his achievements in music despite not having any formal musical training. A slide show will accompany the talk which will last for about one hour. There will also be an opportunity for your group to ask questions.
After the talk the group can visit the Elgar Centre and the Birthplace Cottage at their leisure.
