You can put an entry in one or more of the fields, unless you use Search All in which case you should not fill in any other fields.

Before beginning a new search, click on clear at the top of the table.

When searching for an exact date enter dd/mm/yyyy in the date field, but if you only know the year, enter that in the year field.

If you are searching for a composer, author etc use the creator field to be sure of finding all appropriate items.

Please note that if you enter more than one word in a field, only items with both words together will be returned, eg if Violin Concerto is entered in the description, only items with description containing Violin Concerto will be returned, not items containing Violin alone or Concerto alone.  To search for words occurring separately please use Advanced Search with And.  See Help for further assistance.
